“No. Her heart belonged with our former master. Master Sparda. Once he was gone, she.. Wasn’t really the same. I’ve always loved my sister, but I’ve always been beneath her in her eyes, I suppose. I wasn’t born with magic like she was, I earned mine in blood. His blood. I think if she had her way, she would’ve spent the rest of her days at Sparda’s side. Sometimes, I wonder if she resents me for not dwelling on him. Or if she just resents me for everything. Like a spoiled first child — perhaps she wishes I have never been born. But I love her. I do. She’s my sister — and therefore one half of me. And you. She’s all of us. We’re all of each other. I do agree, however. That she is stuck. I don’t think she knows what to do in Nero’s hands. He is sometimes reckless and is not up to par as Sparda was. I think she fears breaking once more.. I fear it too.”
██⊰⚔⊱██ “… we all fear seeing one of us break apart, her especially after one time and another she might really be lost forever. It hurts thinking about it, you can lose one family member over one event and another could very well be next; you can’t help that feeling either you failed. It’s why I want to get stronger in my own way, for all of us too.” Especially for their sister, that’s what he wanted to do and that’s why he tried hard to push himself to his limits to get stronger and stronger; he wanted that for himself and the others. Maybe because he didn’t want to see another fall before his eyes sure, but this is entirely for more selfless reasons than one would have thought.
Losing another home is not what he wished for with the others, or himself for that matter, he had to do something instead of sit there and let them hurt. “It’s what I want to do, I can’t just sit here and watch it all, if I can help than that’s all the better and if not…? I’ll find another way to do things. If she thinks that way… then living in the past won’t help either, if I would’ve done that Echidna would have destroyed me instead of caught me, I would have never fought back.”
Dead silence. She knew exactly who he meant. Exactly what weapon broke. Fingers pulled at her shorts, balling the cloth into her fists as her knuckles whitened. All those cracks, she had seen them. That day in Fortuna, when she saw her sister for the first time in over a decade.
“Yes. Yamato broke. She did. But she’s together, now. She’s too strong to stay down forever. But the scars — the scars, they will always remain..“ She paused, unsure of what more to say. ”My sister—.. Our sister, is very strong to have gone through what she did.”
██⊰⚔⊱██ He shouldn’t have brought that up and knew it, but, he knew that pain well enough after seeing it in front of him. Being knocked down once on his ass only made him get back up too, he only saw what happened as a means to get stronger for his sake. Maybe that’s why he held an understanding. “She is strong, it hurts like hell seeing it, it hurts worse when it happens though.”
Nearly breaking once gave him that perspective, he wasn’t caught without a fight now against the viper. “Deep down, she might still be stuck on that moment, broke apart and separated from Mr. Vergil. Hurting because she wants to go forward, but stuck in place.” Or so he assumed, he wouldn’t know since he never had a chance to talk with her.
“..“ Oh. That’s right. Devil Arms.. could break, couldn’t they? Grays dimmed in sadness as her smile faded, shifting her gaze aside. A friend, too. These weapons, these people.. With hearts, souls, thoughts. They could break. Fingers drew from the table, hands resting in her lap as she inhaled shakily. “—I’m sorry.”

They were friends as much as they were family, if anything he considered each of them in the shop to be his new family and would not stand for them to be treated ill now just like in the past. He wanted to protect them, so they don’t share that fate. ”… sis broke once too, right?“ It’s obvious who he was speaking of.
“So did you have any original owners? Like — before Echidna.“ How many Devil Arms were there, anyways? Scattered about the world.. Curious thoughts for another time, indeed.
██⊰⚔⊱██ "Had a few of them at least, even had a friend who was with me through each of them til he broke apart.” It was not exactly pleasant to remember ones best friend breaking to pieces, he could say that much through his experiences between each master.

“I think Master Sparda was more concerned with saving his own ass at the moment, and was less worried about how unreliable the seals would later become.”
